What is problem solving? Does it only happen in Maths?

Problem solving is when you are finding out numbers or an answer. When you are finding out an answer you have to have a strategy, so that you can explain it. When you are solving a problem you are explaining a strategy and finding out the answer. You need to have a strategy before you find out an answer. When you are solving a problem it doesn't only happen in maths it also happens in school, shops, work and sometimes at home.

Today for writing we had a 20 minutes maths quick write, We did this to give a clear explanation about problem solving. This helped us have a proper understanding of how to write a paragraph about problem solving. This can also help us to develop our knowledge in maths.

Recount - San Tat

I was walking down the road to go to my great aunt's grave. I felt like something was watching me. I saw old house sitting on top of a lumpy hill. So i went closer to the house as i see the house getting larger and larger.I open the door and every step i took i could her a creaking noises beneath me. I hear creepy footsteps behind me, and i see stairs so i quickly run up the stairs and see a long hallway. All of a sudden the lights start’s flickering on and of. I see this mysterious room with a big closet just sitting in the middle of the room. I went into the room to see what was inside. I opened it and one big giant ghost was staring at me. It did not hurt me it did not harm me. I recognized this face somewhere. Then i got a big shock and realized it was my great aunty. I had so many questions to ask her but as i blinked my eyes she disappeared.

Run Jump Throw

RUN JUMP THROW

Today we went to run jump and throw, Andy told us some of the skills for shot put and discus. For the shot put we need to know how to do the dirty fingers, dirty neck and clean palms. To do a shot put you need to put the shot put ball on your chin under your ear. Put your left leg back of the line face side way, bean your knee look back low to high and watch it fly. To throw a discus hold the discus with your first shelf which is your first lines on your fingers. It sold fall out if you hold your hand upside. 3rd swing up clap bean your leg and look back. Then swing your discus low to high watch it fly.

Country Run - San Tat

Today Afternoon we went down to Dunkirk Park for our cross country. When we went down to Dunkirk Park We have to go with room 4 because next to Dunkirk there was a road. When we at Dunkirk park we have to set  down with our class. We have to run in a year group, When it was year 8 turn I was really nervous because my right leg was hurt. I was really tired when I was running, and I can't breathe properly. But I have a really good Afternoon, I was happy that year 8 from room 5 came 1, 2 and 3. Dontalian came 1, I came 2 and Oh S'Mar came 3. It was a really fun country run at Dunkirk.

How To Use Speech Marks

Latham and I made this powtoon to show how to use a speech marks. The purpose was to teach the teacher.

Me and my partner used a website called Ifaketext.com we used this app the make a conversation about should children have breakfast at school. We were learning to use direct speech and have tried to experiment with different 'said' words.

With a speech mark it should look like this.

“Hi Oh S’Mar I think we should have breakfast at school,” stated San Tat

“Why?” questioned Oh S’Mar.

“Because students without having breakfast struggle in their learning!” shouted San Tat.

“Wow don’t people care about students struggle at school, “said Oh S’Mar

“I know right I can't believe that people don't even care,” San Tat yelled.

Once upon a time there was a little girl who was loved by everyone who looked at her, but most of all by her grandmother, and there was nothing that she wouldn’t have given to the child. One day her mother said to her: “Come, Little Red Riding Hood, here is a piece of cake and a bottle of wine, take them to your grandmother, she is ill and weak, and they will do her good”. Her grandmother lived out in the wood, half a league from the village, and just as Little Red Riding Hood entered the wood, a wolf met her. Little Red Riding Hood did not know what a wicked creature he was, and was not at all afraid of him.

 Little Red Riding Hood raised her eyes, and when she saw the sunbeams dancing here and there through the trees, and pretty flowers growing everywhere, she thought: 'Suppose I take grandmother some fresh flowers; that would please her too. It is so early in the day that I shall still get there in good time. The wolf went into grandmother’s house and he ate grandmother whole. Little Red Riding finally came to grandmother house. Little Red Riding said to grandmother “ You have big ears and grandmother said “All the better to hear you with darling”.

 Grandmother what big teeth you have “More the better to eat you with”. The wolf ate Little Red Riding. The woodcutter heard Little Red Riding Hood screaming and looked in Grandmother’s house. He ran inside and cut the wolf open. Out popped Little Red Riding Hood and Grandmother. After that Little Red Riding Hood went home and learnt to never talk to strangers.

San Tat net book reflection 2013

This year I have found using my netbook to be successful.I have enjoyed using my netbook because I like to writing on my netbook. I like to do maths and we have to play maths whizz on our netbooks.

I found writing hard because I had to find the letters on my key board. I found getting on to math whizz hard because of the connectivity and flash problems.

I have found the blog work interesting because I can put my work on to my blog. I like to put work on to my blog because when I finish my work and I like to put on my blog.

I like writing on my netbook and when we finish and we have to put on to we blog because miss paton saw you finish and miss paton said we have to put on we blog.

My time at Eastern Beach, by San tat

On Monday we went to the beach. I went swimming. I like swimming. Mrs Huggins was in the kayak. I played soft ball with Oh Smar. I like going to the beach.
